How it works
Enter the width of the wall your headboard goes against and the depth of the room. We draw a UK Double and King mattress footprint in your room, to scale, and show the space left on each side and at the foot.

How we rate it: 70 cm or more of walkway on each side and at the foot is comfortable, 60 cm fits, 45–60 cm is tight. These figures use the mattress size (Double 135 × 190 cm, King 150 × 200 cm). The frame itself is larger than the mattress, so allow extra, and email support@kinkybeds.com for the overall frame dimensions before you order.

How we calculate the fit
The calculator places the bed centred on the headboard wall and uses the standard UK mattress sizes for The Sovereign Bed: Double 135 × 190 cm and King 150 × 200 cm. It then works out the walkway left on each side and at the foot, and rates it:

Important: the frame is larger than the mattress. We don't yet publish The Sovereign Bed's overall frame dimensions on the site, so please email support@kinkybeds.com for them before you order, and allow the extra in your plans.
Tips for accurate measurements
- Measure wall to wall at floor level, ignoring skirting boards.
- Subtract anything that sticks out where the bed will go: radiators, chimney breasts, built-ins.
- Check the door swing and wardrobe doors don't hit the bed.

Frequently asked questions
Does the room-fit calculator use the frame size or the mattress size?
The mattress size (Double 135 × 190 cm, King 150 × 200 cm), because the overall frame dimensions aren't published yet. The frame is larger, so allow extra and ask support@kinkybeds.com for the frame dimensions.
How much walkway should I leave around a bed?
About 70 cm on each side you use and at the foot is comfortable; 60 cm works; under 45 cm feels cramped.
Is my data saved?
No. The calculator runs entirely in your browser and nothing is saved or sent.
